Apple Crisp (freezer friendly - OAMC)


Ingredients
10 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced thick
1/2 cup white cane sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/4 cup water
1 cup organic quick-cooking oats

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 chopped pecans (optional - vary the amount to your liking)

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the sliced apples in a bowl and mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon and nutmeg and water.  Place the apples into (1) 9x13 inch pan or 8 mini loaf pans.
Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, pecans and softened butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 35 minutes.

If you want to freeze some of the portions for later use the mini loaf pans.  The portions you want for later, don't cook them, but wrap them tightly and freeze them.  When you want to cook them, thaw in the fridge or counter top and them bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes.  

Serve with ice cream or whipped cream if desired!
